Your shopping/purchase/online registration is secure at Opération Enfant Soleil. The information concerning you and your credit card is forwarded in the form of an encrypted electronic message that cannot be altered or decoded by a third party, since it was subject to an encryption ensuring the confidentiality of the information contained therein.

Opération Enfant Soleil respects SSL secure transmission standards, which means that your transaction will always be transmitted in a secure manner. In addition, your payment is made directly through the Desjardins online payment solution, which is highly secure. Opération Enfant Soleil does not store any computer data concerning the credit information of any transaction. That is why you must resubmit your credit information with each new transaction.

Whereas: donors who make a donation by telephone or via the website using a credit card do not present this and no mechanical imprint or reading of the magnetic strip is made.

Whereas: in such cases, donors can claim that no donation was made by them and that they have been the subject of an error or malice on the part of an unidentified person.

Whereas: in such cases, it cannot be proven that the donor has really made a donation themselves using this payment method.

Whereas: the donor can easily have their donation refunded by the bank that issued their credit card.


It is agreed that:

  1. Any refund request for a donation made by credit card must be made in writing. The donor must specify the reason for the refund request and attach a copy of their most recent statement. The donor may censor any irrelevant information, but their name, address, credit card number, and all the data related to the disputed transaction must appear there.
  2. Following this request, Opération Enfant Soleil will verify the submitted documents and their compliance with its records and ensure that this amount has not already been disputed.
  3. After verification, within a reasonable time (less than 10 business days), Opération Enfant Soleil will carry out a credit transaction to the account of the same credit card as that used to make the initial donation.
  4. Opération Enfant Soleil will then correct its records to cancel any issuance of a tax receipt related to this donation.
